Currently with rents at the moment and have an occasion this weekend. need to clean the car. rents have a karcher. have thought about a snow foam add-on from halfrauds but what could i use as a snow foaming agent? would need to clean car tonight so need halfrwuds options? could i use dj btbm shampoo?
-
Yep you could use BTBM, i dont know how well it foams, but dont expect the kind of foam you see in my write ups.
Especially when using a karcher foam gun.

it's only a temporary measure until i buy a proper karcher and snow foam equipment. got a wedding this weekend and need to get the baby at her best!
cheers for the help. any idea on what ratios to use?
-
As much as you can mate. The foam will be better the more you use but don't go puttin a quarter of a bottle in ;)
-
Cheers mate. Was gonna have a go later but it's raining. Will have to wait and see what happens.

Slight thread hijack, sorry - but i have just starting using snow foam and was wondering if you can dilute it down at all with shampoo - or is that a complete no no. have n,t quite got the hang of it yet and seem to be using far too much.
-
You need to dilute the snowfoam with water. To get an idea of how to work it out: clicky (http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=71201). There's another thread containing an excel file which does the calculations for you depending on the product: clicky (http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=16313).

I read somewhere about a foam lance that connects straight to the hose pipe called "The Gilmour Foamaster"
Are these any good? are they really worth the £50-60?

Depends on what you're after. These 'hose lances' rely on water pressure to produce the foam, and to be honest, unless you have Niagara Falls as your water supply, the presure's gonna be crap.
Honestly, if you're prepared to spend £60 on something like that, you can buy cheap karcher pressure washers for around £70-80. I bought an el-cheapo karcher foam attachment for around £15.

Sorry - what does snow foam do?

Sorry - what does snow foam do?
When you wash your car with a shampoo and wash mitt, any 'heavy' particles of dirt will be moved over the surface, inflicting damage (Scratching the clear coat of the paint).
Have a read of this guide: clicky (http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=4637).
Using a lambswool mitt will pick up some of the dirt particles, so you don't drag them across the surface of the paintwork.
Snow foam is essentially a traffic film remover, used as a prewash to break down and remove as much of the dirt as possible, so when you wash with a mitt, you will cause even less damage.

I got the snow foam attachment from the folks at autoperfection and its the dogs! hadnt used it in a few months so dusted it down today fired it up full notch and it was like white lather everywhere , folk at the bottom of the road were stopping for a second look thinking that ****s :stupid:
buy one they are great just wish i could run hot water with it to.

I can really recommend a snow foam lance is amazzing what they pull off. if car is waxed up as well car is nearlly clean
I had one of these before http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/super-spray-hose-end-sprayer/prod_335.html and like a previous thread unless Niagra falls is in your hose pipe not much happens - connection was also a bit dodgy used to get soaked when trying to put it on.
The lance is a good bit of kit and gets the old curtain twitchers gazing out :happy2:
