Title: Just fitted CC stalk and MFSW...steering angle sensor error
Post by: Rob. on September 03, 2013, 09:13:30 pm
As far as I can tell, I just managed to fit an R32 MFSW (thanks Steviedubs) and a cruise stalk (thanks Eddie-NL) without any major issues.

I've been left with the steering angle sensor error on the dash, as well as an ESP one. As far as I can tell, the first one is pretty common; is the ESP one too?

My questions is...am I OK to drive the car? I took it for a test and the steering is fairly heavy...but I'm not able to see my man Scaff with his VCDS until Friday night.

Thanks.

Have you tried turning the wheel to the left then to the right and driving a short distance

Sounds like you might need to perform basic settings with VCDS

Drove it to work today and noticed the wheel is slightly off centre  :ashamed: And I thought I'd be careful in re-fitting it to the notch on the bolt!

Do I need to re-centre before getting it on VCDS?

The wheel can be realigned any time but the nut only has so many operations before replacement!

The VCDS is need to allow the following since the CC install

Other than that the steering angle sensor reset is none VCDS operation.
