Title: My GT TDI - new wheels fitted
Post by: Ant.W28LKR on September 07, 2013, 09:11:53 pm
Hi all. So i Though i should finally get round to starting a thread in here and share my car. I gave it a wash today and a polish.  To be honest, I've never been one for polishing and you could count on one hand  how many times i've polished a car but I gave it a bash today.  Here's some pictures to kick it off.

I had full set of GT mudflaps fitted before GTI sideskirts were put on. Think I need to buy GTI mudflaps now.  Preferably non branded GTI ones.

Just thinking.  I've had the ed30 rear bumper fitted, are the mudflaps different for this as it's a different shape from GTI version.  But I'll need GTI fronts to fit round the gti skirts.

Is this correct or have I got this wrong?

You need to get yourself down to your local custom exhaust center and have them knock you up a straight through exhaust system with some nice exhaust pipes.

I was thinking more along the lines of just changing the back box?  Must be able to get GTI back box with shiny tips to fit without to much fuss??

None of the oem headunits have rca in / outs for a sub / amp. The line out converter converts the high level input into low level for the sub / amp! (I think thats how it works anyway!

Sub is now in and working. The amp needs tweeking to get the best sound out it. I shall sort this out with a mate who's really into his sound quality gadgets. Are you running the same sub Joe?

I'm running the 400w Hertz sub with a 600w JBL GTO amp. I'm upgrading the head unit to the RCD510 in next few days hopefully.   So should get some decent sound out.  :happy2:

I'm happy with the sub enclosure though. Fits nicely and keep plenty boot space.

I'm happy with it. It's fibreglass moulded with 18mm MDF wood at front fully carpeted and sits neatly on the left rear wheel arch.  I'm sure it's a 10" sub that's in it, getting a decent punch out it.  :happy2:

Yes, duped on eBay.  I've raised a case against the seller, he stated it was "uk vw rcd510" never once said it was a Chinese copied version.   I'm in the process of trying to send it back and get a full refund.   His ad was totally misleading and the item I thought I bought wasn't what I received So i've had to open a "dispute claim" against him.............. I guess I'll know the next time.   :fighting:

Has anybody ever had disputes over Ebay Items and had to go to Ebay to get it sorted out?  If so how did you get on?

Your RCD510 is not CHINESE COPY, it just for vw Asian market.. it shows nothing on the radio, because it doesn't have RDS.  I am using at the moment the same unit, just mine with USB and RVC capability, because there are 3 diff version. Simple, with usb and with usb and rvc. It's very good thing, for right price.

Next plan is to get the upper centre grille painted to match the car. It looks tired & faded.

Slated lower grills with your slated top grill looks better IMO.

Car looks great other than that dude. Get xenon's

So I've not really done much with the car recently other than  Full service, had the front discs & pads done few weeks ago, MOT is a month away.

Had a bit Orange tint so fitted it to front fogs today.

Decided I had enough of front end so primed and Matt black sprayed the 3 lowers grilles then fitted them back on.

Fitted wheels today

Car needs lowered but I'm not sure I can be bothered with the ride being stiffer & feeling every pothole, our roads aren't known to be the best after all
