Title: V5?
Post by: ollie288 on September 01, 2009, 11:24:31 pm
I have seen a V5 update disk for sale and wondered if it was worth getting. I have V4 what advantages does V5 have?
Thanks

From what I have read elsewhere this doesn't include any mapping updates

So at present I would say it's not worthwhile.

The only things I can presume it updates is the POI data.

When people over on VWNavi.com have checked the v5 disc they have confirmed it contains the same navteq data as the v4 (2008 Q4 IIRC).

I've updated to v5 from v3 and can't see any difference tbh. Maybe just a couple of map updates, but still no full postcode search.

V4 & V5 maps both use Q4 2007 maps.

V5 maps have bug fixes that cause some VW units to show incorrect POI locations on the map and a few others I can't remember.

The mapping postcode search etc etc are all still the same
