Title: Non-fog GTI grills
Post by: J12spk on September 20, 2013, 09:11:24 pm
Hey, I'm currently getting all the bits for a gti front conversion. Last on my list is gti fogs, however my tdi sport does not currently have fogs fitted so it's a bit of a mare

My options

1 Retrofit fogs - too much hassle / money / lack of knowledge

2 fit the fogs but leave them disconnected (some1 tells me this might be a problem for mot's though?)

3 can you buy grills without fog light cut outs (really want the honeycomb gti style)

Any advice really!!!

I saw a gti in Germany last week with no fogs and open gti grilles there was a blank where the light would be , meaning the shape was the same but the hole the fog goes in was nit cut out

Fogs fitted to the car must work come the MOT - you could remove them temporarily or buy a spotlight wiring kit for a tenner on ebay and it is a very, very simple circuit to wire up to a seperate switch. That way can be fitted and be legal.
