Title: Does anyone use a VAG K-CAN with the VAGCOM?
Post by: nc35 on September 02, 2009, 08:22:09 pm
Hi All
Thinking about getting a VAG K-CAN lead off fleabay.  Looks like it is VAGCOM and OBDII compatible.
Does anyone else use such a thing?  Or am I heading into deep water?
Cheers
Le

Very deep!!

Firstly it will be a clone, with no support etc.  the real one is £1k upwards depending on the licensing you add.

VAG-CAN Commander is a very powerful tool that will bite you in the ar5e if you aren't sure.

Stick with VCDS - Which unless being sold as a used device - cannot be bought on eBay.

As Stu said - place where I got mine from (although seems to have increased in price recently).

I have used Vag commander to do cluster swaps but has a end user tool it can has Stu says be very disruptive to your car  it can do alot of damage.

Stick with VCDS it is more than you will need if its just general changes to your car that your after. Has for Gendan they are very good but expensive and getting it from Ross-tech direct can work out cheaper.
