Looking at a set of springs for my Pirelli
I plan to keep the Pirelli wheels.. so far
I dont want the drop to be too low, afraid the Pro Sportlines might be too much.. on 18s
On the other hand, VW Racing Springs, according to them, drop 15mil... and i've heard are lighter springs than Eibach or H&R...
Your thoughts are a big help,
Cheers :drinking:

I've been looking around and researching springs for my Scirocco. The KW ones (which are what VWR supply) are only lighter if they are the race version rather than the standard lowering spring version - not sure which type it is that VWR supply though?

H&Rs fella, SteveP's car looks spot on imho, not too low
-
pro springs are not really worth using cause on a gti/ed 30/pirelli they only drop about 5 mm , i fitted sportlines on my ed 30 and imo are perfect , they lower about 28 mm

h & r lower about the same but have been told they are a little stiffer than eibachs hth :happy2:
-
and H&R s are double eibach prices !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont know why ????
-
^^^^ I had heard the reverse TBH, that the eibach's gave a slightly harsher ride
The H&R's also to lower a tiny bit more when comparing mine against Greenouse's (which has sportlines). :happy2:
Also they aren't double the price if you buy them from the right places (but are still more expensive)
-
These are both Sportlines... which ones do you mean

i did a lot of reading myself and was set on the VWR ones as i thought the misses wouldnt notice and kinda thought its almost OEM! then one stupid day i decided to ask her what she thought and she said its a bad idea so i went and ordered some new H&R ones despite her as i wanted to go for a quality route but also have a nice stance not coilover low but decent enough. when she found them in the boot she wasnt happy i just said to her when do i ever complain about all the shoes you own?! i dont so let me do what i want woman :angry015:
sorry for going a bit off topic there!!! getting mine fitted next monday and full 4 wheel alignment and tracking to be safe. find a decent place to get this done aswell rich as some people would just wack em on cheap and you need to be safe bud :happy2: you can get the stealers to do it but mine wanted over 400 quid tho :stupid:
-
dont take too much notice of the amount it says they lower cause it depends on the model they are being fitted to , gti is 15 mm lower than all other golfs from the factory , psi will supply and fit sportline with re alignment for about £270 H&R springs can cost that in some places !!!!
-
^^^ But in most they don't cost that much :signLOL: :signLOL:
-
H&R ones despite her as i wanted to go for a quality route
eibach are quality too ! :happy2:
-

i got quoted £240 + del just to supply the springs !
-
^^^ Orange Tuning or ebay.de are far cheaper
-
i did see them but after talking to eibach i decided they were for me and there only 10 min drive from me !
-

im sure eibach are fine fella but i was under the impression KW and H&R made the best suspension products available which is why i narrowed my choice to them although i could have been wrong to dismiss the eibachs but if i wanted cheap i could have gone for Apex or alike
-
eibach and the likes of apex are in a different league mate but etto

Well, i know a local bloke who puts them on cheap for me, about £60... but springs, they just come off and replace the existing ones. Nothing too technical and shouldnt go wrong...
Your right about being safe though

thats not really what i meant, i know eibach are good products :happy2:
its like buing tyres theirs a couple of decent options but you have to take you choice based on a number of factors
-
yes the top ones the others not for the gti , after fitting get a re alignment , mine did need some adjustment after lowering , i didnt think it would . £130 for springs £60 fitting £50 re alignment your not saving much really :happy2:
-
you need realignment rich try and find somewhere that can do it on a beissbarth vag approved aligner :happy2:
-
i ve also had wheel spacers from H&R , the wheel man , fk and eibach and imo eibach are the best quality out of them all , fk ones are pathetic :scared:
-
Oki Doke,
All your comments have helped me ALOT,

Can you let us know how you get on with the 4 wheel alignment, when I changed my wheels to the pescaras I considered it but vw wanted about £140!! Didn't find anywhere else with a beissbarth so just left it and hoped for the best....
-
jabba have it irc

you dont need re alignment after just changing the wheels
-
Yeah, I should have explained. I noticed some strange tyre wear on the old rubber, just wanted it checked but no such probs on my pescaras with assymetrics.
