Anyone beat that? haha

Wouldn't want to run that low tbh :signLOL:
-
Doesn't the car have a 55 litre tank? If so then there's 5 litres available in the filler tube???
-
Only ever let mine run down to quarter tank then i fill up again
-
Good going for a 55L tank, how many clicks did you give it, to get 60L!
Is there an overflow? i.e. did some end up on the floor, lol.
-
I thought they were 55 litre too!

I remember (a few years ago) TT posting something about getting loads more fuel in a Mk5 than 60 litres, I'm sure there was a good explanation too.
Whenever I see a Shell Station I always stop and fill up with their Nitro go go juice. Usually never less than half full. I always check on their app to see where the nearest station is, I'm sure my car won't blow up on another 99 but it's never had anything else.
Once I get the first click I stop filling. Remember reading years ago something about not overfilling the Mk5, something about losing the fuel and something else about the Charcoal Cannister? (Probably posted by TT too ).

No 99RON petrol in your area??
-
^^^^ Yes, within walking distance.
I should have said "whenever I'm away from home and I see a Shell Station I fill up".
:happy2:

Sorry mate, my comment was meant for xjay as he filled up with 97RON petrol.

There is 99 ron but on a standard car there's no real benefit using it.
Plus as I shop at Sainsburys and on Ebay I get my Nectar points....

Not that many surprisngly! Normally first click is around 47-48L for me but this one it was at 57!! Maybe 3 or 4 clicks to get over 60.
Could have kept going but got bored lol. None on the floor :)
On 100 miles of trip but fuel gauge still at max haha.
-
I have to travel 24 miles for my nearest shell, well any 99RON in fact! Rural Cumbria sucks
(Though I do go most weekends to fill up, hence the sig)
-
I know on mk4's you can fill the expansion tank by pressing a little nipple in the filler neck with the end of the filler nozzle but I've not noticed one on my mk5.
I used to be able to get about 63 litres in my bora if I was very low and filled the expansion tank up.

I'm lucky Shell garage 1 mile from m house! :congrats:

It's not there on the Mk5 :surprised:

I topped my tank in the Spring and I now get an Evap engine light every few weeks - it seems you knacker the whole system by one squirt of fuel where only vapour is meant to go.
