Hey, my mate has just bought a 55 plate gti, he has had about a week and it has been running fine, however he was driving it today a noticed that his engine warning light has come on, it is still running fine but the light is still displayed, any ideas or could it be a number of things?? Cheers in advance  :happy2:

Could be loads of things.

Is just the engine light that comes up or does the epc light come up too? Is it running in limp mode? Whats the idle like? Whats it like under accerleration?

Its just the engine management light, it idles fine, it accelates fine? Nothing feels wrong with it... Just didnt know if it could be something as simple as its been sat in a showroom for a while and has just done 300miles in the first week??

Thats weird, need to plug it into VAGCOM see what it throws up. Could just be one faulty sensor, and nothing serious at all.

Thats what we were hoping, he's thinking of taking it to awesome-gti to get it checked out but expect they will charge a fair bit there  :surprised:

Just standard labour. VAG specialists are usually about 60 an hour.
