I fitted it (apart from the rear camera, defo not up to fitting that!) but I have to say I'm SO SO pleased that I didn't buy the RNS this unit is incredible all my steering wheel buttons work the MFD shows everything except the sat nav (who cares?!) apart from the 'interesting' looking software the unit is fast responsive and well excellent. Absolute bargain if you ask me if your thinking about RNS over WD6050 then I'd vote WD - for me it wasn't a money choice I just thought you get way more with the WD and thank god I chose to get it!

Just wanted to share  :happy2:

very cheap mate I think I paid about £300.00 + £30 for the wireless rear camera kit.

Check out the following thread for all the info - I have the latest version 4 and to be honest all the problems people had with the unit seem to of been solved it's a great piece of kit

I'm going to add a portable HDD to the rear USB out so even storage of films etc or anything is pretty much unlimited  :happy2:

ps. Oskar (Joe) is the best person to buy (as you will read when sifting through the thread)

What do you think of the sound quality and, are the graphics any good in the flesh?

all the sat nav is displayed on the touch screen so it's only the MFD displaying a copy of the screen that's missing - which frankly i don't miss at all as I rarely had the MFD sat nav showing (normally on mileage etc.)

The sound is way better than the oem system, everything seems incredibly clear yet really 'bassy' if you need/want it.  At high volume it out performs by a mile, you really can notice the difference and I didn't think it would be that noticeable but it is.

The graphics are a bit '80's' to be honest but since I have the sat nav showing 99% of the time (unless watching videos) it's not a problem - I will look at skinning it at some point but I'm in no hurry.

By the way if I didn't mention it before - I will now, the video quality is immense.

All i need now is to learn how to hook up the wireless camera

Don't get me wrong, I know most things nowadays are made in china, but the VAG ones are quality.  :happy2:   The WD screen shots look really out-of-date to me. But like I said, if you are on a budget, they are a great price.

No man seriously I think it's a quality build - okay the graphics aren't the best but we all run the sat nav most of the time anyway. I wasn't on a budget I just chose the WD over the RNS and I really do believe I've got the best of both worlds. But as ever each to their own  :happy2:

tbh the bluetooth for me is as good as my parrot (still inside actually!) lol

I have the DVB-T i bough another aerial on ebay (quoted 96db) but have not installed it yet (wrong fitting) so have the small one that came with it pushed through the glovebox and tried it a couple of times on the dash bth times got signal and picture. In fact today I got a perfect picture whilst pulled up outside starbucks!?! weird as the aerial was still in teh dash - anyway will expect it to be fine once I locate the aerial near a window!

The picture is fast clear no different to any LCD TV really

go buy it! - I have a feeling this v4 model (I have) has overcome most of the earlier problems and it's just a case of sorting the graphics now! :)

tomtom suck (imo) get igo 8.3 it's way way better. I had OEM sat nav before since buying car so never used tomtom apart from on my  phone a couple of years back - but i uninstalled it now and run igo 8.3 on it for biking. just hope the igo comes to android! :)

1 final question (i promice )  do you have to plug your ipod in the front of it ? or can you plug in from the rear ? it would look alot tidier pluged in from the rear !

No problem asking questions otherwise you never get an idea!

It's plugged in from the front but I plan to buy a Composite AV cable and run it through the AUX IN of the HU and again feed through the glovebox.

I read that in the huge WD6050 golfmkv.com thread so there is a way to sort the problem. Maplins will sell them I think it's around a fiver mate
