Title: Rattle around gear shifter
Post by: jbenekeorr on February 10, 2014, 01:21:59 pm
Hi all, for some time now, I have noticed a noise coming from somewhere around my gear shifter/ashtray area. It sounds like a small screw which slides about as you turn or accelerate. It's quite quiet but really irritating in an otherwise rattle-free interior!

Once, I tried to go into reverse from the park position (my car is a DSG) and it felt like something was stopping me moving it, it then dislodged itself and the shifter moved as normal, so whatever it is must be in that area.

Does anyone know what it might be or how I can get to it to remove it? I have removed the gaiter/surround but couldn't see anything immediately obvious.
