Hey, I've just bought a '06 plate mk5 gttdi and looking to swap the rear valance for a gti one, the gti one comes with a cut out for the exhaust, just wondering if anyone has modified it so there's not one, or if there's any aftermarket ones without the cut out or is it just a case of changing my backbox?
Thanks.

I think Luke from Plush Automotive did this on his old mk5 gti. Search for his thread, should be around somewhere :)

Okay cheers!

The facelift TDI ones come with the cutout iirc and then it's just get one of them back boxes, a gti back box or an after market one
-
There's a fair few people that have deleted the cut out.
Any relatively good body shop will be able to do it for you
-
you can buy the rear valance with out the cut out but most people go the other way

Hmm, okay, thanks, do you know if the gti backbox will affect the power at all or do they just have different tailpipes?
Thanks
-
Won't affect the power at all

as above just different tail pipes..few months time my milly back box will be up for sale
