Title: Electrics Problem :(
Post by: alexmccabe on April 13, 2014, 10:00:20 pm
So for a while my drivers side window wouldn't wind down without me holding the button. Not a real issue. Well now the problem has escalated. The drivers door sometimes doesn't unlock itself via the fob, when I take the key out the ignition or when I push the button on the door. I will have to lock the car again to reset it all and unlock it.

It's odd because the passenger side door will unlock fine.

I am assuming it is the door module, as using the window button to control the passenger window works as expected. Would I be correct in thinking this?

Sounds like a module issue have you verified for any issues with VCDS?

I agree, probably the module. Should throw up a code if it is. Had mine done under warranty on my old GTI. Doesn't look like a fun DIY tbh mate  :sad1:

I have a similar problem, if the motor was nackered, would that give a fault on vcds or not? I scanned it the other day (just for the sake of it) and nothing came up

I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet, as there isn't anyone near me that could help out. The closest guy is a 90 mile round trip.
