Hi guys,
when fitting some aluminium pedals the other day I spotted a foam block under the drivers seat where the Bluetooth modules are located.
I may have noticed it sooner when cleaning the car etc. but I didn't have Bluetooth in mind before.
Anyway, the module is Nokia branded and the part number is 3C0 035 729 E. I've got a MFSW but only a standard RCD head unit and I see it with my phone but can't seem to pair with it.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me about this unit and what it is compatible with e.g. do I need the RNS-510 to be able to use it?
-
A bit of digging suggests that this is part of the hands free premium kit and that it is for rSAP devices (remote SIM access protocol), something not many phone seem to use now.
Has anyone else had experience with one of these modules and managed to get anything it off it without using an old Nokia?
-
change the module to a better one
-
So that's the only solution, these Nokia ones are no use?
I suppose I at least benefit from having the wiring in place already. I don't suppose you know whether these kits came with the microphone too did they?
-
Best bet would be to replace it with 7P6 adapter which is plug and play however you will need either a RCD510 or RNS510 for it to work.
-
Yeah I thought that was the case and was hoping I'd got lucky with this unit already being in.
Regardless of the rSAP part, does anyone know if these Nokia modules need an RNS510/RCD510 to work too?
-
That is a good question. Usually there is what looks like a phone cradle mounted round the glove box area and if you're lucky it will have the adapter - if you do you/re half way there but you'll still need the interface kit.

The car did originally have a cradle which I had seen in the photos on the VW dealer's advert but it was gone by the time we looked at the car.
I never gave it a thought that there might be residual components until I found this Bluetooth module.
By interface kit, do you mean the 7P6 module?
Cheers
