Title: Back to VW after a long spell with Subaru!
Post by: MKT on May 06, 2014, 04:36:25 pm
Hi guys,

After a long spell away from any Veedubs my last being a mk4 R32 I've bought myself a 5 door candy White gti!
I recently sold my Impreza P1 which I adored immensely but with a growing family a 2 door car was proving difficult especially as a daily driver!
Anyhow I have to get up to speed in the VAG scene again as it's been a few years now since owning one.  I have previously owned a few variants from back in the day such as the Leon Cupra R, mk4 gti turbo, V6 4motion, gt tdi 130 & a R32.
I'm looking forward to improving the GTI with some upgrades in the near future but in the mean time I'm concentrating on getting it serviced, with a cambelt & waterpump change & along with 4 new tyres . I'll also be endeavouring to tackle the VW dealerships to see if they will come good with the typical rust corrosion on the front arch & boot lid. Though I'm not holding my breath!
Cheers

I'll get some pics up soon or I may even start a project thread in members rides as no doubt this won't be staying standard for too long!

Thanks guys for the warm welcome I'll make sure to start a new thread with pics of the car.  It's currently standard & completely unmodified. I'll post a pic or two up shortly.

Cheers mate & I'll get some pics up soon.  As for spec its pretty much basic, I think! No leather, xenons or sat nav. unfortunately!

Some people prefer tartan, xenon's can be retrofitted or you can buy lookalikes plus the sat nav can be retrofitted also mate.

Cheers dude. I will be keeping a close eye on the sales section. I think at some point I'll upgrade to bbs ch alloys, xenons & a upgraded stereo system. I have to say I do like the tartan though! The edition 30 has all the best bits in my opinion.

Best thing to do mate keep your eye on the For Sale section & eBay plenty of bargains pop up. I agree with what you said about the Edition 30's have it all, I'm just missing a highline dash. :booty:
