My cars just turned 40k so time for a dsg oil change, didn't realise it was that or 4 years thew :-/ but the metchratronics was changed two years ago and have a warranty sheet for the work but nothing about oil being changed, neither nothing in the service book. I just Carnt see why it wouldn't of been done thew especially having a full VW service history before I had the car and do the work myself.
I think there's a lot of invoices and paper work for parts ect not been kept, when I serviced the car i put a new cam follower on that looked in very good condition and already had a rev G DV on when I replaced it.
Basically I don't want to risk not doing it but wondering if I rang the garage where the service work was carried out would they give me more information, I don't want to spent £100+ if it doesn't need doing but if it does I want it done ASAP if it's not been done in 6 years...
Cheers

I am pretty sure that when they change the metchratronics they have to change the oil also during the process. So it was done 2 years ago.

Some VW garages (franchises) dont have access to the full system.
A decent garage should be able to pull it all up :happy2:
A Ford garage did this for me when I had my Focus ST

I would of thought they would of changed it when metchratronics was changed with it being submerged in oil and risk of contamination in old oil with it all exposed. I'll give the garage a call as well incase they have more info,
Cheers for reply guys :happy2:

Any doubt, change oil and filter again. The garage who did the mechatronic unit might've just changed the oil and not the filter, or might've declined to change the oil anyway (or said they did, and didn't). If they say "Oh yes, we did the oil and filter but didn't list it on the job sheet!" then most likely it hasn't been done.

Yeah vw should tell you, all work carried out should be on the elsa system. Or on the kerridge system if work was carried out at that particular dealership. I work at vw

When I had my Mechatronic unit fitted I had to pay extra for oil and a new filter if not it wasn't getting replaced, if your invoice has a filter on chances are I'd say it's been changed.

Nothing about oil or filter on the invoice, spoke to the previous owner and he said far as he was aware it was changed. I think id better drop it and put fresh in just to be sure, last thing I want is the box packing up and costing me a fortune.
Anyone know the best place for oil, iv seen some comma oil that's slightly cheaper or would I be better just sticking to OEM

Only OEM oil for the DSG mate.
