OK, following on from Mats thread here - http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1513 - I need to seriously address the standard ARB drop links.
I'm running the Whiteline adjustable ARBs front and rear, and have already had the rear drop links replaced once, about three months ago, and that was after only two months on the softest rear setting. Now running at medium front and rear - and the fronts are quite 'sloppy', and the rears looked well fooked after just another couple of months - so the drop links are defo a weak link.
So what are the full options for uprated ARB drop links, ta muchly! :happy2:
-
Kw do fronts and bsh and neuspeed do rears that I know of
-
They are the only one's I know of too Matt. The BSH one's look the most substantial.
-
So does anyone do a matched pair?
I quite like my socks to match my Y-fronts! (cue some funny pic from Top Cat!)
And linkies to the KW, BSH and Neuspeed ones, TVM.
-
I know they cost abit but these solved my knocking rear arb problem and they look ace too

Don't really think those BSHs are as good as the Neuspeed ones!
Any others?
-
I would defo buy the neuspeed rears over the bsh ones just down the design and the angle of how they join to the arb and the car
-
I think Whiteline do their own, they're in the Tweeks catalogue. MKV specific rears and universal fronts in various lengths.

I found the Whiteline rose-jointed universal drop links, but I couldn't find any specific to the Mk5? Or did you mean those S shaped poly bush drop links?
-
Sean, someone gave me a nod about this question, so as I pointed you in the direction initially I'll help as much as I can - I'm not a complete tool.
I've tried looking on their website and it is a bit of a mess with lots of stuff missing. However, in their Motorsport (red) catalogue there's 3 listings for droplinks:
The Spherical droplinks for the MKV rear, the 'S' shaped ones and the universal ones. There's no picture of the latter, so it's hard to know if it will work? You'll probably know better once you've had chance to look yourself.
The latter I think is the ones you'd be interested in for the front (myself too actually), they come in 2 different types; bushed and something else that escapes me at the moment as I've left the catalogue in work. There's about 10 different adjustable lengths of each ranging from 90-100ish mm up to 380-400ish mm from memory.
I guess it's a case of measuring the GTI's fronts and seeing if there's something applicable.

whats the going rate for these then. they look quite good. coming with camber plates and drop links its quite a complete kit

Did you get those drop links yet?
-
Damn things haven't arrived... and also can't seem to figure how to contact the seller on eBay.
Does anyone know who "dubtekshop" is run by on eBay and how I can contact him/her? It's been over 2 weeks now...
-

His BSH shipment has been delayed so that's the problem.
He seems to put stuff up for sale on ebay without physically having it/them on his premises. Good for stock taking but bad for the customer who has to endure not getting stuff on time because of shipping delays.
Send him a message in the link below quoting your ebay item number.

Very nice...what's the PCV plug and tap?
-
I have bought the kuatec cable that displays oil temp, watertemp, voltage and boost, only on the 2.0tfsi you cannot get boost from the canbus, so i need a boost tap and a gauge :scared:
-
Can't you get the boost from the Forge DV?
-
Can't you get the boost from the Forge DV?
....Indeed you can

Can't you get the boost from the Forge DV?
I don't have the Forge DV, the original works fine
And as i have the BSH PCV fix, i just replace the BSH part on the manifold with the 42DD part :happy2:

Nice drop links  love mine

Got my BSH ones sitting here - will get them fitted tomorrow (fingers crossed)

http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p1329_E-MFA-DIS-Add-On---Display-Boost--Oil--Battery.html
With Highline module you can get these infos in the screen in between rpm and speed, BUT not boost pressure for the 2,0 TFSI :sad1:
-
does it only work on highline mfa ? mine is a std mfa . it says nothing about highline required
-
Pretty sure this is highline only - boost only available on diesels.

quote from Kufatec:
The vehicle needs to be equipped with DIS+
DIS+ = Highline :happy2:
I'm awaiting Bluetooth box, i hope it works with this  but i think not :sad1:
-
Just remember, turbo boost pressure is not available from the canbus...so you won't get a reading on a GTi.
Otherwise, everything else works fine.
-
so you defo need highline ?
