Hi all,
Just got my car back from the garage where they diagnosed the Air Con compressor to be faulty.
I am a little confused though as they want silly money for a compressor but did say if i can find one cheaper then they will fit it.
I have found 3 on Europarts which say they all fit but what is the difference in them? Is it just a question of quality because their is a massive price difference in them.

I had mine replaced with a fairly cheap one from ECP. OEM Sanden ones are often £400.
If it's still available I think it was Paul that had one in the for sale section.
Silly cheap too to say its a Sanden compressor :happy2:
My ECP one is still fine and it's coming up to 2yrs old

Just found Paul's thread....it's Sold :sad1:

Might seem like a silly question but what is ECP?

I am normally handy when it comes to fixing cars.
Can you DIY an air con compressor? I have heard its illegal to vent the gas into the atmosphere.
-
Hi, I have Pauls compressor you can buy it if you want it never used it.
Thanks Matt

Cannot read PM's yet. How much do you want for the compressor?
-
Its only really DIY-able if the car has had all the gas removed, otherwise as above its illegal to release into the atmosphere.

Like said above, venting gas it illegal and VERY dangerous and bad for your health!
If you plan on changing the compressor yourself you will have to take it to a garage to have to gas removed, ones your have done it you will have to take it back to be evacuated, tested and refilled...that should cost no more than £40
