Hey guys, I've just finished fitting my new head unit, the dnx520vbt from kenwood. Got it from a member on here for a relatively good price. Installation went surprisingly well, no clips broken, no new scratches on the unit or the dash of my car, very pleased!
Few issues though...
I now have an airbag fault warning when I start the car and the airbag light is on.
The iPod source setting is recognising and playing from my iPhone but no sound is coming out (radio is working)
There were 2 connections in the rear bottom left of the old unit (rcd500) only 1 of which I can find a new home for, it looks to be something aerial related, but radio signal seems fine so far, should I get a 2-1 adapter for this and get the other one plugged in anyway?
Other than that the unit is excellent, need to get a hands free mic for the Bluetooth to work properly I assume, my steering wheel controls seem to work too which is nice :)
Anybody have any wise words for me or general tips on using this new unit?
I'm off out for a drive!
Thanks guys, Pete

Airbag fault, I presume you turned the ignition on with the airbag connector on the top section of the dash unplugged.

Yeah I did. If I reset with a cheapo scanner will that solve it?
Realised I did a bit of a stupid on the no audio thing. I expected the audio to come through in the USB, actually you have to plug in a 3.5mm jack for the audio which makes perfect sense now I think about it!
Looking at one of these on ebay. Seems one is fakra...

Yep, that connector is the wrong way round. You'd need them to be the other way, something like this one.

The airbag light came up when I fitted mine as well, just a simple fault code reset using VCDS will clear it, although be advised your ECU will constantly log a fault with the stereo (mine does at least).
I need to pull my unit out and look at the radio aerial as my reception is rubbish on a good day!
As for the iPod feature, if you want to control and listen to your iPod through the head unit, you can plug both the iPod USB cable in and a 3.5mm jack for the audio through. Kenwood do a cable that combines the two into one... for £40. :stupid:
