Title: Remaps down south?, and is a sports cat worth it?
Post by: WayneGTI on July 10, 2014, 08:05:40 pm
i am looking to get my mk5 GTI mapped at the end of this month, i know everyone says Rtech but they are very far away from me ! , i live in Southampton most local place is Regal that use REVO maps. i think 500-600 is a bit much for a remap . any help with somewhere more local to me and wont make my turbo go bang.

also i am looking into getting exhaust for my car , seen Jetex/Milltek/Scorpion/BCS , but is it worth getting a sports cat aswell or just a cat back system as sports cats from what i have seen are around 600 , even on my old 350z they weren't that dear!

Give jkm Portsmouth a ring they are revo dealers but may be able offer some decent advice on what's best for you

If you can't be swayed to travel to see R-Tech (which many of us do from down South  :innocent:) then as mentioned JKM Performance in Portsmouth are the peeps around your way. They will do you a REVO linear map for you and you'll be amazed at how it transforms your car.

The exhaust will depend on what level of tune your after? Stage 1, just get a map and no other mods are needed. Cat back will add nothing but noise. A full sport cat or decat TBE will be required for stage 2 (along with a cold air intake).

Oh and no your Turbo won't go pop!
