When I got my Gti mine were pitted and pink, I cleaned them with a good stiff brush and some wheel cleaner then used some red turtlewax/t-cut colour restorer I had lying around, coat of AG SRP, then waxed them. They stayed brilliant red for the rest of the time I had the car and needed nothing more than a jet wash through the wheels to keep them looking great.
Spend a bit of time on it and you'll reap the rewards.

I used brake cleaner to get the worst, then wheel cleaner, i then put a layer of wax over it to act as a seal(not sure it it helped or not) so now everytime I was the car I spray some brake cleaner on it :happy2:
