Title: VCDS Lite don't work? MK5 Golf?

For ages I had one of those eBay ting tong blue leads with the disc, it worked on all my leons, mk4 golfs, audis but it doesnt work with my MK5 Golf?

Anyone know why? and what disc/lead do i need ?

You'll need a genuine Micro-CAN or HEX+CAN cable.

VCDS Lite is for clone cables on cars using the K-line protocol, mk5's are CANBUS.

Ive seen alleged genuine full vagcom the usual auction site, disc and cable for £50 ? IS that about right?

No. That's a fake cable.

Ahh it was advertised as a full version but it was one that couldnt be updated. I was thinking of buying full one so i can turn off seatbelt bleepers, usa sidelights etc

m8 if you can get a genuine ross tech for £50 grab it both hands quickly,i have had both the Micro-CAN & HEX+CAN & i bought each used ok granted i got both off here from fellow members for very good prices but both of them i paid over £150 each & i sold my micro lead on here for £180.

The moral of this is it ant cheap for the genuine stuff but it pays for it self in the long run  :happy2:
