Title: Cupra brakes
Post by: D3hnt on September 05, 2014, 02:23:27 pm
To my understanding the front ones are the same as the r32 but red and are a straight swap with a GTI requiring new sheilds, hoses etc

What about the rears? I believe that the calipers are the same? And that they have bigger and vented discs? Are these also a straight swap over? Im unsure

Can anyone confirm

Thanks

S3 / R32 rears are slightly better than the OEM Cupra ones  :happy2:  I have upgraded to S3 rears

I have S3's all round and were a straight swap. Ditch the front stone guards and the rears just need bending back slightly which can be done by hand to allow for the bigger rear discs.

Thanks for your replies, so just to clarify r32 rears are a straight swap on a GTI but you have to modify or not bother with the stone guards

Yes, exactly. I'm going to upgrade to the S3/R32 rear brakes, going to ditch the shields personally.

I wouldn't say modify. Just bending back slightly using your hand so they don't rub on the disc  :happy2:
