Hey guys since may i have this problem in my car whenever i go in a downhill and then reach straight road and try to push the throttle the car misfires and become undriveable it throws a cylinder 3 misfires anyone has any info i drive the car for months without the problem it just happens when coming back from my village exactly after the downhill
PS:i have a downpipe leak which i will fix tomorrow and i have a Camshaft positioner bank 1 intake slow response fault after clearing it it comes back in some miles ...

Low on fuel at the time??
-
No never it happened twice and was never low on fuel
-
I wonder if the LPFP is having a hard time.
-
A bad lpfp will throw a cylinder misfire?
-
If it was a fuel pressure fault it would show multiple cylinder mis-fire not just on cylinder 3 I would swop ignition coils over to cylinder 4 and test again if 4 comes I would change the coil for a new one !
Also check the connectors aswell .
-
It has thrown random multiple misfires +cylinder 3 misfires and no i tried changing coils its not about them something is really mysterious im having a headache
-
Try replacing the fuel filter ?
-
you tryed plugs? i doubt it will have anything to do with going down a hill
-
I changed plugs to NGK bkr7eix and i have just changed the fuel filter today it has to do with releasing the throttle for a long time then trying to push it again and my car does popping sound and farting when throttle is released in downhill roads
-
Vacuum issue???
Does it only happen on downhills or is it when coasting for a long time...
-
No it happens only in downhill i can drive the car in the city for months without problem
-
My guess would be it's fuel related since the issue responds to a change in gradient. You could also consider a faulty fuel safety cut off switch or even a tilt switch associated with the alarm system.
-
Its a really strong misfire that you cant drive the car anymore you have to carry it on a truck and it makes unburnt fuel smell
-
Take the sender unit out and inspect the tank you make have dirt or something blocking the pick up with is causing the problem ?
-
I have noticed that when the misfire starts happening if i give the car a full throttle it will run again fine but if i dont it will leave me sitting on the road waiting for a pick up
NEW HG HF downpipe to be installed tomorrow morning will see if it changes something
-
Maybe be a bad valve cover gasket? When changing plugs i remember the third one of them was oily the on the cylinder causing the misfires
-
Update on this went downhill in S mode the whole road and it same one were i used to get stuck late at midnight because of the misfire and i gived a wot from time to time and it seems that is fixing the issue but i am not sure that doing that trip on D will make me survive the trip
