Title: Gear box leaking oil
Post by: PhilNUK on September 11, 2014, 11:24:51 am
Apparently the gear box on my edition 30 is leaking a bit of oil from the housing...
Anyone had this before? Any recommendations on best ways to fix it?

I hear it will need to go to a gear box specialist?

One of my mates had this on his VRS, it was only leaking a few drops a day. They said they would need to drop the gearbox and put a new seal in.

wanted £225 for the pleasure. My mates declined as you could buy approx fifteen 1 litre bottle of oil for that.

good point!

I have been quoted about £600 altogether to remove it and take it apart and diagnose and get fixed

I have never seen a trace of oil on my driveway neither!

Ha ha ha £600, what a set of idiots. Just keep an eye on your oil levels and top up when needed. £600 worth of oil will last a long time
