What is the general opinion on the Autohaus number plate surrounds?
I was thinking of getting a pair for my Edition 30 and realised they don't get mentioned much on here.
They frowned upon or are they a good addition?
They would be going on a Candy White Ed30 if that makes a diff

I think if you get them with a pressed number plate, they look quite good on the rear. Not so convinced about the front though.

This.
I ended up just having one on the back and going for heavy duty velcro on the front. Tried numerous sticky pads holding on the plate and they failed after a couple of weeks but velcro has worked a treat!
-
I used a number plate tape off ebay and the plate's still stuck on the front two years later.
-
Tried with front and back to hold on pressed plates, front looked naff so stuck plate on and looks so much cleaner. Still have one on the back but thinking of ditching that one too. Anyone wanna buy two plate holders

I think they look good provided they look like an OEM part. Mine aren't, but all they have on them is the Audi logo and an email for Audi's HQ in Ingostadt and they're plain black. Shiny silver ones are definitely a no-no.
I have them front and back. The front ones don't look 100%, but not bad enough for me to be bothered to take it off again.

I have a OEM German one on mine and really like it. Old pic below but still the same surround.....

Cheers for the replies
Love the look of that one above....
Wasn't aware you could get OEM ones! :rolleye:
I have picked up one for the back with the Audi and VW logo on it and Autohaus Wolfsburg Tuning on it too. Got it free in the end as a mate had a spare he didn't put on the front of his car...
Will stick it in and see how it looks but I do prefer the smaller font in the above pic

I had them on my MK4 but did'nt fancy them on the 5.
-
I have them on my MK5 (front only) as I have made no attempt to go with the "smooth" look.
-
rear only , did have one on the front but felt it looked bulky with the standard plate mount so just have the plate stuck to the plate mount now

Yes from me, only have a rear one though
-
I did have one on the back but removed it and stuck my pressed plates on with velcro
-
I have pressed front and back with Wolfsburg surrounds and that look much better then the standard plate.
-
not for me, looks too busy. less is more :happy2:
