Title: Induction kits are they worth it??
Post by: gazzab91 on October 04, 2014, 04:23:44 pm
So I picked up a ram air induction kit for my car earlier in the week with the intentions of fitting it to go along with my decat downpipe and high pressure fuel pump before taking the car to r tech to get it mapped.

Was wondering is there any significant gains from the induction kit? I've already got a pipercross oil panel filter on the original set up and many people have said to me you'll see little to no gains with my new kit

Was wondering if anyone has some figures or experience to back up bhp claims that ram air and other induction kit companies make

You'll notice a big difference with a full intake.

I fitted mine after the stage one map and had more gains.

As above they make a decent difference especially with a heat shield, Ram air isn't the best brand though Evoms seems to be the best for your money from my research or get a Revo if you can stretch to it.

I tried two IK's on the K03, an open and closed system, they definitely make a difference higher up the rev range, but I found a loss of low down torque which is generally what I use more than the top end, so put the OEM box back on.

I'm sure the K04 peeps wouldn't notice too much as they have to get the revs up before anything happens anyway... I jest.
