Hi. First post so be kind! I have had a 55 plate GTI from new and just found that the rear anti roll bar has snapped. I thought the occasional clunk from the back was probably a droplink but no, the bar has snapped in two. I drove into a layby about 4 weeks ago with a VERY big pothole and I think that's probably what did it.
So I don't want to pay out for a brand new one and I am looking at getting a scrappie bar with new droplinks and bushes. Does anyone know if the GTI bar is the same as a standard one or is it uprated? I will probably get it posted and I am trying to avoid getting it and then finding it doesn't fit.
Thanks

ETKA is quoting four variants for FWD Golf's, so might be worth trying to measure yours or it's a case of going by the PR codes :happy2: I'm guessing the GTI would have one of the two thicker ones

I've listed this info with part nos in another thread if you can dig it out.
Most arbs are hollow, and differ in thickness.
GT / GTi models share the same one.
R models have solid arbs.
I think a Passat one can be fitted as an upgrade.

Ordered a GTI rear sway bar (suspension code PR-0BF) yesterday. My Golf already came from factory with the same front sway bar as the GTI. My rear sway bar has 20,7 mm x 2,8 mm (suspension code PR-0BE).
RARB part number: 1K0511409CB

Ok thanks for all your replies.
jason_rmh - Jas thanks for that. I did a search before I posted but I missed your previous post. I have found it now though and in your list it is 21.7 x 3.0.
xjay1337 - In your list it also says 21.7 x 3.0 so it's looking good.
But I think I am going to go with Golf_GT_TDI's advice and measure it just to be absolutely certain. Off out tomorrow to find some cheap calipers! (to measure with, not brake!)
Thanks everyone once again for your help. :happy2:

No need to measure. Your GTI has the one I posted: 1K0511409CB. Just order that.
If you still doubt what I'm saying you can look here to confirm: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Golf_V--2.0T/Suspension/View_All/ES240573/.

Shoduchi. I think you are correct - but I suspect one of those from VW will be out of my price range which is why I am looking at a second hand one. If I could find a new one in the UK for a similar price to the one on the ECS site (about £65 by my reckoning) I would go for that but the cheapest non-VW I have seen here is about £180.
Unless anyone else knows better ??

You should try to get one posting in the Wanted section. There should be more than a couple GTI owners who upgraded their RARB and should have it available for sale.
-
Good idea. I am new to the forum so I didn't know there was a Wanted section - For Sale yes but not Wanted.
I have just posted my want - fingers crossed.

Might be worth contacting this seller on eBay and ask if they can relist it?..

That RARB isn't going to be relisted. It's coming to my Golf.
But you can keep an eye to see if they get a new one.
