Title: Temp
Post by: errorinside on November 24, 2014, 08:58:26 pm
Hi all , I've noticed that I think I have the problem of the temperature gauge  goi g to 70 then going to 90 when sat in traffic then back down to 70 when moving , firstly. Where do I get the the thermostat  at a good price ? I'm assuming it's the main thermostat 2nd. Would that also stop the heater In the car from getting hot ? It gets warm but not hot  any help would be appreciated thanks

Main thermostat. Had mine done last week and it's spot on now! Stays at 90 once there and doesn't move

Again same with mine and just had it changed. I've done all the work on my car myself but this is one job I wouldn't personally tackle!

Main thermostat is giving your symptoms but that wouldn't affect the heater. My thermo was blown but still have proper heating.

You can get the thermo from vw if you do want to tackle. I Had intended on doing it and got a quote but don't have part number or price to hand right now!

FYI VW were looking for €400

I had an independent do it for €225

My car is perfect now on temp since Thermostat change.

I do have a strange fan run after I switch off on occasion.
Air con off.
Been checked out at VW

Any ideas
