Hey guys, I owned a Mk5 Golf couple of years ago, It was a 1.4 TSI & I had nothing but trouble with it, Over £2k in repair bills. :sad1:
Last year I sold that and bought a BMW 1 series, But I am now on the hunt for another Golf.
I have around £9k to spend and really wanted a Edition 30 before the BMW, Is £9k a realistic amount for an Edition 30? I'm really stuck between getting an Edition 30 or paying a little more and getting a MK6 GTI.

Personally a edition 30 is way more appealing than an MK6 gti

I paid £9100 for my edition 30 fsh cambelt already done 2 previous owners and 50k on clock so I would say it's enought really important thoe that you find the one with fsh and receipts. If it seems to be good to be true guess what it probably it.

Go for a edition 30 over a mk6 I chose a Pirelli (the same as a ed30 underneath) over a mk6 and so glad I did - my friend has a mk6 golf gti and I do prefer my Pirelli just feels more special and has a better engine

I had this exact same thought process, mk6 gti or a mk5 edition 30. Went with the edition 30 and definitely don't regret it. I personally prefer the look of the mk6 but the mod possibilities for the ed30 were far better! Don't regret my decision!
