Hi,
Just fitted the BCS sport TBE with sport cat.
Fired her up and she barely sounds louder than stock?
Are they all like this?
-
Is it the powervalve? If so the idea is that they're pretty quiet when cruising but when you hit boost they sound awesome, take it for a drive :driver:
-
Non powervalve :(
Pretty disappointed i'll be honest
-
Is it resonated?
-
Yeah two boxes
-
That's probably why then, the sports cat will give better flow but with 2 boxes it won't be much louder than standard.
-
Oh, don't really want to hack at it.
Might have to sell sports cat
-
The sports cat will be fine, it's the cat - back section (where the silencers are) that you need to change. BCS will probably be able to sort you out with a different one that will be louder, I've heard good things about their customer service so they should be able to help you
-
It won't be much louder on idle... Have you driving it yet? Windows down?
-
Problem is i'm on isle of man so can't get to BCS :(
Haven't driven but revved and barely sounded louder.
-
It will get louder once it carbons up a bit. Give it a thousand miles or so :happy2:
-
Its a second hand unit though?
-
It won't be LOUD.
Try dropping your back seats and going for a drive, will sound a bit more like what it sounds like from the outside. :happy2:
-
forgot to mention.
2 studs snapped when removing DP.
How can I fix this?
-
Surely its about flow/performance Not noise unless your 17 years old in a corsa B  its a mk5 Gti...... A gentlemans car dont want to sound like a lout surely :stupid:
-
A nice exhaust that's not "look at me" loud, sounds perfect. Especially in a 4 cylinder...

Most MK5's may be gentleman's cars but some are shiny, loud and fast and driven by youths like me :signLOL:

I was atleast hoping it would be a bit lpuder than stock though.

Hey Mark
Really sorry that you are disappointed with the Sport system you purchased second hand.
I recognise that the exhaust system is not to your liking - your clearly looking for something quite loud...
Our Sport (Non Powervalve) system has been designed specifically with a target market in mind, that is to say a system which gives a great sports tone on the move without setting off alarms or more to the point droning in the car.
I think to say "I was at least hoping it would be a bit louder than stock" is unfair and in our opinion wide of the mark, something that the many owners on here would bear out.
We offer a wide number of variations in our range (greater than any other brand) in an attempt to try and appeal to as wide a field of owners as possible - every one has been thoughtfully designed and thoroughly tested. Even the Prestige system which is our most stealthy system gives an upgrade over the stock exhaust sound.
When you have driven the car perhaps you might want to reconsider your statement, as potential owners may find it mis leading.
Thanks

The quality of the item is second to none.
I'm not after a Saxon bean can loud but just something I could hear on Rickover and then a fair whack on boost.
I drove it all day yesterday and still feel it's not much louder than my stock item.
I think I will have to go non res as a friend over here has suitcase delete with non res pipe and sounds really good.
I am in no way slating the company as I love the work you do, just mega gutted it's not how I wanted it.
-
Bcs don't have a "suitcase" to delete.
Mines the prestige system and its louder than OEM by quite some margin.
Love mine....
-
I'm not disputing that. I'm just saying that mine is slightly deeper than stock.
My partner even came out once it had been driven etc and said it was really quiet.
