Title: Does a new cam follower need oiling ?
Post by: lambera on January 24, 2015, 06:31:48 pm
So I am going to change my cam follower tomorrow and was just wondering if the new one needs oiling at all?
From what I can see and what I was told, is that it already comes lubricated in the little container is this correct ?

Thanks Alex.

I dipped it into engine oil when I changed mine. It almost slipped off the end of my finger into the depths of the engine bay, just to let you know.

I use a little engine assembly lube when fitting them.  If you don't have that then a little engine oil will do, as some come less pre oiled than others.
