Title: tyre question

Hi all just a quick one.I have 225.45.17s fitted at the mo.I've got 225.50 17s from an old set of wheels I had with about 5mm tread would these be ok to fit and would they effect the Speedo.manythanks

Speedo would be out 3.43%
When your doing 30mph you speedo would  show 28.97mph

Generally speaking the speedo's on VW Golfs are out after 40mph anyway and overread. The main thing to look for is clearance at the arches.
