Title: Ordering from bold sport
Post by: RetroRaz on March 23, 2015, 08:53:03 am
Anyone recently ordered from Bold Sport? I placed an order on 24th feb and have only got a confirmation of order email, no dispatch email. Emailed them twice in the last 2 weeks and haven't heard from them.

I ordered from them at the start of Feb, heard nothing from them but thought id give it some time.

Come to the start of March and still nothing so sent an email to chase up, didnt get a reply. I then received my bulbs around a week after sending the email so i wouldnt worry too much :happy2:

All in all took around 6 weeks to get my bulbs through which i was sort of expecting, but it would of been nice to have a reply email or atleast confirmation of my order being posted for peace of mind. :fighting2:

Was going to order some stuff from them but being the impatient person I am I doubt I'd be able to tolerate having to wait 6 weeks. I ordered some bulbs from them last year and had them in less than 2 weeks which was bad enough!

How come it takes sooooo long?

They are based out of Hong Kong. On saying that I have ordered stuff from sellers on ebay and have received it with in 2-3 weeks so not sure why it take Bold Sport so long.

I ordered off them on Boxing Day, wasn't in any rush and they turned up mid January. This was 2 years ago I can't remember ever receiving an email saying they had been dispatched though.

I ordered switches from the two weeks ago, and they turned up 10 days later, But when I used them before I was waiting a month for brake pad retainer clips.

Hit or a miss!

Did you pay by paypal, if you did might be worth raising a claim.

Finally they are here in the uk but i got a letter in the post from parcel force to pay custom fee of 24quid!! Any way of getting this waived off?

That cost will include Parcelforce's handling charge.
What was the order total? Does the declared value on the package differ from the invoice total? VAT is chargeable on goods over £15 or items declared as GIFT can be up to £36 in value before VAT is charged, all the info is here...

You can appeal against the charge but it will need to meet the criteria above  :happy2:

I dont have the parcel yet, im guessing it wont say gift on it :(

The total value was 64quid. When i ordered from them before i had an order of 40quid and never paid tax. Oh well looks like i have no choice

Some do slip through the net, unfortunately nothing can be done if the charge has been calculated correctly which from order total sounds like it has.
