Hiya guys and gals. My mk5 gti had done about 83k and needs a service as it's done about 10k since the last one. Can someone tell me all that would need done, as I fancy giving it a go myself. It's a second car so have time to tinker.

full service would be Air, Oil, Fuel, Pollen Filters & Spark Plugs.
Shouldnt take to long if you got the right tools should be done with in a couple of hours at a steady pace

So would I not change the coolant too??

When was the coolant last changed in yours? should be in the service book stamped.

Effectively, there is no service schedule for coolant replacing as it is normally done with a cam belt change because the water pump also gets renewed, so coolant is replaced at that time. According to the Haynes manual (well worth getting one) you don't replace the coolant. But every 5 years (again, same time as cam belt) is what I would recommend.

I had no proof of a coolant change so I did it. Doesn't cost much and it's easy to do.
Use G13. It'll do no harm so why not
