Title: Off to look at an edition 30
Post by: Mitch H on March 30, 2015, 09:33:25 pm
Looking at investing in an edition 30. Like the colour and spec of this one..
Anything I should look out for on the edition 30 or just the usual when buying a used car?

Alright mate

It doesnt have the genuine bbs alloys on for an edition, id question why, if your not too bothered its still a bartering tool

Make sure the engine warms up properly and the dsg isnt clunky in 1st and 2nd going slow and fast up through the gears and down, apart from that just thw usual stuff really
thats what i looked for anyway, also make sure its had a dsg service as its around that age

Buy private when one comes available on here, almost gauranteed to be a better looked after car and will have the correct wheels too!

For 10k i personally think there are much much better lower mileage examples out there

Example below

Only my 2 pence mate
Good luck in the search  :happy2:

You'd better get a move on as someone else has their eye on it too

I would be all over the Pirelli personally, pretty much the same car.

The wheels and seats are not for me either but the price is to good to pass imo if I wanted a special edition K04.

Thanks for all the help. I wasn't convinced when hpi ing and calling about the car in the original post. Something wasn't right. Since then I have enquired and called about 2 black cars with a great spec but missed out on both of them :(
I have up to 11500 to spend on the right car. Ideally I would like to spend around 10k then I have some funds to get it ready for stage 1+

Not very, whites a popular colour now but wasn't back then. I think given there's only about 2300 ED30's i imagine there's probably less than 200 white ones, so they normally have a premium on them

Hi mate, the vehicle you had interest is the one I bought last week and drives like a beauty and all checked out fine. I was hesitant at first but after checks and the fact they only specialise in mainly VW it put me at rest.

Hope you find your ED30 but like you I was after a white or red so decided not to let this one get away :)
