Title: Phil_H's BG 5 Door DSG (2k road trip)
Post by: Phil_H on May 17, 2015, 07:39:33 pm
So...thought I'd finally get a topic going for my Graphite Blue 5 Door

Bought it a few months ago after a relatively short search, last owner had it from 3 yrs old. It had some history but unfortunately it was the owners "mates" garage.

Anyway, after negotiating on the price due to a few issues (one being it was advertised as having Cruise, but it didn't!) I bought it. To be honest, looking back I was probably a bit inpatient, but I also had a fairly good idea of what I wanted and this kinda fit the bill.

DSG, 5 Door, Blue, Leather, 17" wheels with Cruise.....so nearly ticked every box!

As it turned out, the car had a new A/C compressor, Alternator, Aux tensioner and belts and from what the VW mechanic was saying, and new cam chain and housing etc...

As I got it about £1350 under my budget I went about spending the spare cash on it.

Wheel Refurb in Graphite Grey
Service
DSG Service (VW)
Cambelt & Water Pump (VW)
RNS 315 with BT mic
Cruise
New Bilstein's (R)/Sachs (F) and Sportline Springs
PCV
DV
Pipercross panel filter.

So that was the rest of my cash + about £500 lol...

Oh...and I got the Wings done under warranty :)

Got a long 1300mile trip coming up this week to my parents in France, after that I'm planning on doing a pre cat delete, cat back exhaust, intake and then finally a remap (R-Tech I expect)

Cheers for looking :)

Cheers :)

Yeah, doesn't seem to be many GTi's in this colour.

Although there is a TSI about 4 doors away from me in BG :)

Just got back from a 2k road trip to France.

Car performed effortlessly fully loaded and returned a decent 36.2mpg (maxed at 38.5 with cruise at 75mph)
