Title: cambelt done, not water pump??
Post by: Vwgtiking on June 02, 2015, 11:20:24 am
I just bought a mk5 golf GTI with  a cambelt change at 89K, 2 years ago, now at 103k… however the previous owner, ex partner, had the cambelt done which I have confirmed with the garage but they are unable to advise if the water pump was done at the same time. In theory it should.

Question is, should I rush to have the water pump and cambelt done or will it be ok?

When I had the cambelt done first time round at four years, the water pump wasn't changed but it was changed at eight years when the cambelt was done for the second time.
