Hi all,
Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this paint damage on both my front calipers?

I noticed it Friday, after it had a wash by someone else. I'd like to think I'd have noticed it if it happened earlier on in the week. It's rather obvious in person.
Rear calipers are fine though:

Heat maybe?
What kind of pad do you use?
-
I really don't know what the pads are on there at the minute - but a full "delamination of gloss" on both in the space of a day? Sounds a bit unlikely to me. I'd have expected it to happened in spots over a month or so?
-
Probably some aggressive wheel cleaner with acid, I'd guess...
-
Probably just extra heat causing the laquer to fail.. could be anything really.
-
Age, heat and a pressure washer is most likely mate
I Recently replaced my rear calipers with new genuine items due to sticking and paint flake etc
Tempted to change fronts also as they are looking a little worn now although a might fake the time and just clean, prep and repaint them instead :happy2:

If they're not sticking/broken just repaint them mate. a lot cheaper.

Nothing wrong with the calipers, had no issues with them. It's just the gloss which has come off entirely on the front in one or two days that has given me this concern. My thoughts are jumping to what this third party that gave the car a clean used?
