Title: Spark Plugs for a Remapped Car
Post by: mikec on July 12, 2015, 01:03:43 pm
Hi all,

Just wondering which spark plugs are best for a stage 1 remapped GTi?  Read a bit about going a stage colder when remapped.

Getting my coilpacks done Wednesday and going to change the plugs too.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply.

Eurocarparts are bringing up the NGK-PFR7S8EG-1675.

Are these the ones I need to go for?

Standard 7s are the best choice. 8s run too cold and foul unless doing lots of hard accelerating. Stick with the 7s

I sent Awesome a message asking the same thing and they said just go for OE plugs.  Only go colder if you have a highly tuned car, stage 3 onwards.

Does anyone have a link to OE NGK plugs?  Im not using Bosch lol.

Who did the mapping? Talk to them.

Any ideas what they should be gapped at? These haven't been gapped specifically for my Golf.
