Honeycomb grill darkening
« on: November 02, 2015, 01:59:18 pm »
Hi all,

Recently got my ED30 but noticed when I was buying it that the honeycomb front grill is a bit faded (more of a grey when it's dry!). Is there any way that this can be darkened fairly permanently without the rigmarole of spraying it? I know there's a few products out there but most don't last very long.

I sprayed mine and it was easy. Took an hour tops. Just wipe it over well and make sure its clean then paint away, make sure you doe it evenly if you do

Yup, I took mine off and sprayed it too. Dead easy.

Thought I might end up going down that route. Am I right in saying the GTI badge is bolted on rather than stuck on? Did you spray the fog surrounds etc as well?

I sprayed all the grills and as for the gti badge I put some masking tape on it and tears small bits up to cover all of it. Worked a treat
