DPF diesels?
« on: February 09, 2016, 07:55:41 pm »
Found a cheap 170 Passat but he says it has dpf issues. Whereby he drives on the motorway it then goes into limp mode. Switches off the engine, restarts and car is fine again. Does this sound like something cheap or I could even fix?

Dpf removal might fix it but not sure if emissions test has changed on that now for MOT

You've got to start with a scan (cheapest first) as plenty people want to bail out of their vehicle first sign of a bill over £500.

Not an issue. Cut and weld old dpf.

However doesnt sound like a dpf issue. Sounds like turbo under or overboost. Fairly common on 170 tdi engines is issue with actuator on turbo. Can be replaced separate.
