Exhaust trims

Just bought a Golf MK5 GTI FSI DSG 2005 model and loving it.

I want to replace the exhaust trims, so looking for some good quality ones, anyone know the size, I think I read somewhere 65mm, but I cant find it again, and any suggestions on some good ones would be great.

My BCS system is a full TBE. You need to source 2x80 mm tips, cut your old ones and weld the new ones.

Being new and a dope, I thought they were clamped onto my car, had another look and can see you need the whole part, if you want to change the tailpipes...

I wanted new ones because the ones on there are almost black, so will ne looking to clean for now.

I've found a few tips, such as brillo/soap/polisher...is this the way for those of you that have cleaned the tailpipes?, any good suggestions would be appricated.

I did a 'cheap fix' £18 mod to my standard GTI exhaust tailpipes which has worked wonders!

For 18£ that's a better option indeed.

I've used autosol not too long back and my 13 year old some how noticed them gleaming and looking better than all the others around my area but the down side is that they have these rusty bits that don't want to shift so I may look a some 80mm round tips to replace these with.

I won a set of r32 mk4 pipes last year for £35 brand new but the twat on ebay didn't send them so I had to get my money back from ebay. they were really nice too. here's to the guy who didn't honour the bidding system  hope he chokes on that lol
