replace or refurb my headlights?
« on: May 04, 2016, 04:42:44 pm »
mine either need a refurb via the sanding method of which there are many online tutorials, but also if  I do this what is the best way or sealing them after rework? some kind of UV clear lacquer spray? wax? clear coat? what brands etc are good.

or, as I'm a lazy git, what options are there for standard oem type replacements are HELLA any good are they just like OEM? what other cheapish brands / replacements are out there and what is the quality like?

Personally I'd go with the sanding option unless you like spending tons of money.  I seal with clear coat wax every so often.  Lasted almost 2 years so far doing that every 2-3 months.

The 3M sanding kits on Ebay are good.  :happy2:

Proper wet sanding with 400 grit up to 2500.
Compound and polish, then seal with something like Carpro DLUX and you'll be fine.

A drill is quicker
Mind you, is it easy to take the lights out?
