Michelin at costco
« on: September 16, 2017, 03:34:03 pm »
Guy,

Need some new tyres for my GTi - 17 inch.

Seen these in Costco

http://www.costco.co.uk/view/p//view/p/michelin-22545-r17-94-w-pilot-sport-4-xl-727810

£343 fitted inc £60 cash back.

Are these the right ones?

That will work but also check the Y rated version of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 to see if there is a difference in price. In my local Costco the Y rating tyre is slightly cheaper than the W version even though it is uprated in terms of top speed (W can handle up to 168 MPH, Y can handle up to 186 MPH).

it's also worth checking the small print, they had a similar offer recently but the cash back was in the form of a voucher to be used in store as opposed to cash

as mentioned already, ask for the price if the "Y" rated versions, they will probably cheaper than the "W" rated version for some reason.

The deal is £60 off four Michelin Tyres - not cashback in the form of Costco vouchers.

Also, don't worry if you only need say two new tyres. You buy four (to qualify for the deal) and then only have two fitted on the day. You take the other two home to store in the shed. When you need them fitting, just bring them back to Costco with your receipt and they will fit them for you free of charge.

Hope this helps.

Update.

Went to Costco today and got the Michelin sport 4 (94) Y for my 17" monza's. Total cost inc fitting came to £347.95 which includes the £60 cash back offer if 4 tyres are purchased. I could have got the Goodyear F1 Ass 3 for around £330 fitted, but after reading the reviews on here thought I would try these.

Only driven about 20 miles, but seems good.

Offer runs out tomorrow if any one is interested. But they will have other offers on.

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice  :happy2:

Picked up four Michelin PS4's - 224/40/18 92 Y - works out at £96 each..fitted.  :happy2:

For those who who prefer Goodyear F1's, there is deal for £70 (ish) off 4 Goodyears (18") starting tomorrow (Monday 25th Sep).

Hope this helps

Rich

EDIT - Goodyear 225/40 R18 (92) Y EAGLE F1 (ASYMMETRIC 3) XL - If you buy four, the total price fitted is £289.95 - which is £72.50 per tyre. Not too shabby!  :happy2:
