iPhone through iPod connector?

Hi all. First post am in need of some assistance :happy2:

I am the very proud owner of a recently bought mkv gti.

Now it has the RCD 3000 unit and an old school (30pin) iPod connector in the glovebox. I have bought an apple 30 pin  to lightening connector and am trying to connect my iPhone 7 but it doesn't seem to recognise it.

Any thoughts appreciated chaps.

Have to hit the CD button twice, thats how I get mine to work.

Many thanks I will try that. Oddly there's nothing about the iPod connector in the rcd300 instruction manual. Both factory fitted.

So I double clicked cd and lo and behold the iPod input becomes cd#6!

All working well so many thanks Gary :driver:
