Steering wheel advice
« on: July 04, 2017, 12:27:15 am »
After some advice really, I'm looking into fitting a mk6/7 steering wheel to my Eddie but all the ones I've found on eBay are the wheel only. Do I have to buy the airbag bit separately from a main dealers?

Thanks

Possibly from a dealers or from someone breaking a car. Mostly ones at wreckers have had the airbag deployed.
You might be lucky and find someone on here selling a mint condition used mk6 GTI MFSW including the airbag. I was

I'd only buy the two together
VW Golf 2.0 Gtd 140 4motion (2005)
Factory fitted: xenons, sunroof, heated leather seats, fold in mirrors with downlights,
Custom: Mk6 steering wheel, updated gateway, RNS510 remote boot pop, LED lighting.

Id buy them together. There is an airbag for the mk6 which is slightly smaller and it will require a little harder push to do the horn. Cant remember the part number for that specific airbag now.

You can get airbags on ebay for around £120-£160 but personally I wouldn't be opting for a used airbag incase it wasn't functional, have to ask yourself what's your price on your health.

I obviously wasn't looking hard enough. I take it it will need coding?

Yep, A CH steering wheel control module, and a new Cruise control stalk version G. and then code it all
