Does any one have the VW part numbers for the activated charcoal canister, the associated pipes and the evaporator control valve, (is that the N80 valve?), for the golf GTi mk5, 2008 model.

Hi,

Thanks for the info MKVASMR.

An update, I rang the local VW main dealers early this morning, (JCT 600), I gave them the part number which I read from the top of the activated carbon/charcoal canister currently fitted to the vehicle, i.e. 08 model, which was ZSB 1K0 201 801I, they told me that part number had been superseded, but would not give out the correct number, that's their policy. They said that three other parts around it, mentioning a pipe(s?), but again no part numbers, had been modified. The total for these parts was £254.28.

I then enquired about the N80 purge valve, using a part number I found online yesterday, which was 06E906517A, they did not say if that part number was correct/current, but did mention a recommended update to the pipe coming off the RHS of the N80, (i.e. when looking from the front to the back of the vehicle, so passenger side), the price of the N80 purge valve was £50.76, and that of the new pipe was £24.42. Another poster on this topic gave a part number of 8P0133781B for that new vent pipe. The guy also gave the part number for the Oetiker hose clamps, aka pinch clamps or ear style clamps, which was N10199201. The YouTube videos on its, (N80 valve), replacement tend not to re-fit them, (you can't reuse the originals), but fit jubilee clips/clamps instead. The bit I read on these was that the pinch clamps gave a more robust seal. I also found if you wanted to preserve the original look, you can source those VW hose clamps, then buy the pliers, (with a box of clips), to crimp them up, off Amazon.

Thanks again MKVASMR,

Pedro

PS It looks like there's a new/extra 'O' ring, numbered 10, and a pipe numbered '8' in the diagram, would you, (MKVASMR), happen to have their part numbers  ? Thanks

Daylight robbery prices from VW for a cheaply made plastic box filled with charcoal . I bought the following one: https://m.autodoc.co.uk/nty/18600677
It cured the fault on my 2008 GTI which was putting the engine management light on with the following code:
P0441
Evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow
