Black Gti - mini detail
« on: July 07, 2010, 10:42:00 am »
Hi

I have been working with my machine polisher for a few months now getting some great results but I was struggling on my own car not everybody else's!
I know vag paint is difficult to work with but I was getting quite annoyed/ soul destroyed at the amazing turnarounds I was getting on my mates fords & vauxhalls but not my own ride!

Basically I used some menzerna polishes which got the majority of swirls out but left a milky hazing on the car. I was struggling to get this out so contacted a chap on detailing world (Simon) who does the odd workshop (Not in a professional capacity, more a keen hobbiest). After a few emails we agreed to meet up & the following thread is the result:

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=176155

I thought it might be of some use to peeps as it shows what we used & the results

Good/bad comments welcome

cheers

Martin

Tip top effort, results and write up Martin  :happy2:

Now I've seen your car, think I may have seen you about couple of times!...
I'll keep an eye out

How long before its dirty again on our roads?
Don't know about you but I find Northants' highways to be particularly dirty all year round...

Thanks for the comments chaps :happy2:

tbh pete it still looks pretty mint as I haven't driven it this week!

Yeh the roads are quite bad round here, I should know as I work for northants county council designing roads & structures!

If I get time this afternoon I will stick another layer of wax on, depends what time I get back from Santa pod

hehe yeh I had no hand in anything to do with Wellingborough particularly the "popular" public realm stuff going on in the centre at the moment :scared:

I'm about this eve & thursday for a view, not looking quite so clean now tho

We can always give your car a going over one evening......?

Hehhh, thank goodness! It's a mess atm, don't know if you've been through the TC lately?

Ah quality. Thurs is good with me if it is you fella?
Ah really - That'd be top notch  :happy2: I'm a real detail novice so it'll be cool to learn the practice.

I'll PM you, don't want to hijack the thread even though its yours
