I had a version B RNS510 in my car for quite a while without the battery drain issue.  Mine is also an 06 reg.  The RNS was running version 1100 (I think) firmware/software, which ever it is, which is quite old so that may of made a difference.

I also have version B in my car (07) running on firmware 1100 I think and I have no battery drain, I think im right in saying that version A and B will not drain your battery unless you change the firmware to the same as whats on version C..... Thats my understanding dont quote me though

Thanks for the replys . My car is a dsg and when
It's in the garage I can't get my bonnet up so can't afford to get a
Flat battery . Last time I had a flat battery I had to
Call the rac out to get it out the garage   :ashamed:
